About Dana

From day one of my 28 year naval career it was impressed upon me and my shipmates that when you’re in the middle of an ocean, you don’t have a choice - you have to work together,” said Dana Reed. “That’s the approach we need in Augusta. I’m running to make sure our kids can afford to live in Maine when they’re done with school and do something about the outrageous cost of living.

I've always felt called to serve the people around me, which I've done as a Navy chaplain, pastor, and school teacher. My wife of 35 years, Katherine, and I, raised our two children in the Windham schools and were active participants in Boy Scouts of America. I was a founding member of Be the Influence, after seeing the devastating impact the opioid crisis was having in Windham. Having spent my career listening to others, helping them achieve their goals, and building up communities large and small, I'm eager to serve the Windham community in new ways.

I'll work on the things that matter most to our town: an economy that works for every Mainer, jobs our kids can count on, and working across the aisle.
